§01 · The ledger

Experiments, stamped and filed.

Each one starts as a hunch and gets a codename, a hypothesis, an instrument and a stamp. Fielded work has left the lab for Novel Cognition. Active work is running now. One file is still classified.

FRONTIER

Crawler arrival telemetry

Hypothesis

AI crawlers can be summoned on purpose, and the time from publication to first crawl is measurable per crawler family.

Instrument

1×1 beacons across twenty-plus properties, seeded publication through several discovery channels, and a log of who arrives when.

Finding

OpenAI's crawler arrived within minutes of seeding; Anthropic's within hours. Six crawler families identified so far.

In one line

Publish, then time the machines. How fast does each AI crawler arrive, and what does it read first?

KNOWS

Entity graph traversal

Hypothesis

Machines walk schema relationships (knows, sameAs, worksFor) as routes, not just as annotations.

Instrument

A network of cross-referenced Person and Organization records, read against crawl logs.

Finding

Crawl paths matched the entity graph, not just the hyperlink graph. The network propagates itself once seeded.

In one line

Do crawlers follow structured-data relationships the way they follow links?

SPLIT

Structured-data A/B for AI citation

Hypothesis

The structure of a page's machine-readable layer changes whether an answer engine names it as a source.

Instrument

Variants swapped at the edge; citations measured against a fixed prompt set, with a control page that never changes.

Finding

In progress. One variable per test, a negative control on every run.

In one line

Change the shape of the schema, hold everything else still, and see whether answer engines cite the page.

ENTITYWIKI

Open entity records

Hypothesis

A neutral record format for organizations and people can be a public good and an authority signal at once.

Instrument

A written spec, a test gate, and an unattended release pipeline.

Finding

Live at entitywiki.com, released in numbered drops.

In one line

A clean, citable, versioned record format for entities — published in numbered drops.

LAZARUS

Aged-domain resuscitation

Hypothesis

A domain with a real link history can return as a living site for almost nothing, rebuilt from its own archive.

Instrument

Archive recovery, edge workers with lazy loading, and a local model that turns feeds into original copy.

Finding

Proven on a first domain at effectively zero monthly cost. Written up as a repeatable playbook.

In one line

Bring well-linked dead domains back as near-zero-cost edge sites built from their own past.

LOCAL MIND

On-premises inference

Hypothesis

Worker-grade tasks — drafting, red-teaming, classification — can run on owned hardware at zero marginal cost.

Instrument

Open-weight models on a Mac Studio, and a delegation protocol with hard deadlines so a hung job never blocks the work.

Finding

Worker tasks run free on local metal; frontier models are reserved for judgment.

In one line

Most pipeline work doesn't need a frontier model or a per-token bill.

THE ROOM

Who reads the web now

Hypothesis

Three kinds of reader now share the web, and they can be told apart from behaviour alone.

Instrument

This website: structured server logs, a 1×1 beacon, a cookie-free sensor, and a trap only rude crawlers find.

Finding

Live. Watch it in the Signal Room.

In one line

Tell human, machine and hybrid readers apart — without cookies or fingerprinting. You're in it.

VOICEPRINT

Narrated explainers, locally

Hypothesis

A cloned voice plus a slide renderer can turn written work into video on local hardware alone.

Instrument

Local text-to-speech and a house-style deck renderer, capped to a target running time.

Finding

Working pipeline. Output length is predictable to within seconds.

In one line

Turn any page or deck into a narrated video in a cloned voice, with no cloud spend.

██████

██████████ ████ ███

Hypothesis

██████ ████ ███████ ██ ███ ████████ ████.

Instrument

███████ ███ █████████.

Finding

We'll talk about it when it works.

In one line

Withheld.
